And There Is Always SOMEthing....
... that you still "need." No matter how long you've been in "prep mode" or how much you have accounted for already, there is always that elusive item you still want or need.
What is it??? Mine? Night vision binoculars What's yours? |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
Those would be nice, especially on those nights when you cant sleep wondering if they are coming to your door!
:4_8_4v: Mine is a root cellar! |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
Ooo.... I am building a root cellar this year!! We should collaborate on plans!
And the NV Goggles I want will let you monitor your property from cameras so you can be inside your house while you watch on a computer screen! |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
Oh that is nice about the computer monitor!
I am looking for plans for a root cellar, you have links or books? |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
I'll have to look it up in the morning, but I do have a book on root cellars.....

do you have any emergency back-up power plans in case the power goes out or the power to your house is cut ? |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
All the preps and mental readiness to endure uncertain times are very important. The more the better.
Don't overlook your spiritual condition. This world is only temporary. |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
It's not an emergency until your preps are wiped out.
I keep telling people "Store what you eat, eat what you store!" That specifically avoids the problem you mention, at least for food. Ok, now I am guessing. You grab your wonderful $95 combat flashlight and the batteries are dead. You go for your spares and they are dead too, because they are X years old. You should have gotten Energizer E2Lithium. Twice the price, seven times the power, and shelf life is fifteen years instead of four. (Compared to alkaline of the same brand.) You should have E2Lithium for all your emergency gear. |
Re: And There Is Always SOMEthing....
harbor frieght has some cheap wireless motion sensors for 19.99. They are batt operated and can transmit at a pretty decent range. They can alert you to intruders.
